How to Use the Perplexity Library on Mobile App

The Perplexity Library on the mobile app stores all your saved threads, collections, and shared links in one place. Many users lose track of past answers or want to organize their research by topic. What the Perplexity Library Does on Mobile

The Library is your personal archive of every thread you have saved in Perplexity. When you bookmark a thread, it appears in the Library tab. You can also create collections — like folders — to group threads by project, topic, or priority. The Library syncs across devices if you are signed into the same account. This means a thread saved on your phone appears in the Library on your desktop and vice versa.

Before you start using the Library, make sure you have the latest version of the Perplexity app installed. Open the App Store on iPhone or Google Play on Android and check for updates. You also need a Perplexity account. If you do not have one, sign up for free inside the app or on the website.

Steps to Access and Use the Perplexity Library on Mobile

1. Open the Perplexity mobile app
   Tap the Perplexity icon on your home screen or app drawer. The app opens to the search screen by default.
2. Tap the Library tab
   At the bottom of the screen, you see four tabs: Search, Library, and Account. Tap the Library icon (a book or folder icon). The Library screen displays all your saved threads and any collections you have created.
3. Save a thread to the Library
   Go back to the Search tab. Find a thread you want to save. Tap the thread to open it. Look for the bookmark icon — it looks like a ribbon or a flag — at the top of the thread near the share button. Tap the bookmark icon. The icon fills in to show the thread is saved. The thread now appears in the Library tab.
4. Create a new collection
   In the Library tab, tap the plus icon in the top-right corner. A dialog box asks you to name the collection. Type a name, for example “Work Projects” or “Recipes.” Tap Save or Create. The new collection appears in your Library list.
5. Move a saved thread into a collection
   In the Library tab, find the thread you want to organize. Tap and hold the thread, or tap the three-dot menu next to it. Select Move to Collection. Choose the collection you want. The thread moves into that collection. You can also open the thread and tap the collection icon to assign it.
6. View and manage collections
   Tap a collection name in the Library tab to see all threads inside it. Tap the three-dot menu on a collection to rename, delete, or change its cover image. To remove a thread from a collection, open the collection, tap the three-dot menu on the thread, and select Remove from Collection. The thread stays in the Library but is no longer in that collection.
7. Delete a saved thread
   In the Library tab, find the thread you want to remove. Tap the three-dot menu next to it. Select Delete or Remove. The thread is removed from your Library but remains in your search history if you have not cleared it.
8. Search within the Library
   At the top of the Library screen, there is a search bar. Tap it and type a keyword from a saved thread title or content. The Library filters to show matching threads. This helps you find old answers quickly without scrolling.

Common Issues and Limitations When Using the Library

Saved Threads Not Appearing in the Library

If you tap the bookmark icon but the thread does not show up in the Library, refresh the Library screen. Pull down from the top of the Library tab until you see a loading spinner. If the thread still does not appear, close the app and reopen it. Make sure you are signed into the same account on all devices. The Library syncs only when you are logged in.

Collections Not Syncing Across Devices

Collections you create on your phone should appear on your desktop after a few seconds. If they do not, check your internet connection. Force-close the app and reopen it. On the desktop, refresh the Library page. If the problem persists, sign out of your account on all devices and sign back in.

Cannot Move a Thread Into a Collection

Some users report that the Move to Collection option is grayed out. This happens when the thread is already in a collection. Open the thread, check its current collection, and remove it from that collection first. Then try moving it again.

Deleted Threads Still Appear in Search History

Deleting a thread from the Library does not delete it from your search history. To remove it from history, go to Settings > Account > Clear History. This action clears all past searches and threads from the history but does not affect saved threads in the Library.
