The Google Slides Android app can add slides and reorder existing ones without using the desktop filmstrip. Work from the bottom thumbnail row and confirm the selected slide before changing the sequence. Touch controls differ from the computer’s right-click workflow.
Add a slide with a layout
Open the presentation in the Android Slides app. Tap New slide at the bottom right and choose the layout you want to add. Inspect the new thumbnail and fill the appropriate placeholders rather than assuming the new slide belongs in the intended section automatically.
Move an existing slide
Touch and hold the slide thumbnail at the bottom. Tap additional slides if you need to select more than one, then drag the selected slides to their intended position. Google’s Android guidance describes this touch-and-drag sequence.
Check the selected thumbnails before moving them. Similar-looking slides may contain different dates or examples, so read their content when the deck has repeated layouts.
Verify the revised presentation
Read the slides immediately before and after the moved section, then present that sequence. Update any spoken references or manually typed labels that no longer match the order. Use the app’s skip control when material should remain in the file but not in the normal talk; do not confuse skipping with deletion or privacy. Google’s mobile guidance directs slide numbering to the web presentation interface, so avoid searching for a desktop numbering dialog in the Android app. Review the actual final deck before sharing or exporting it through another route.
