If an organization blocks Sign in with Google or an app’s data access, an authorized administrator must review the policy. Repeated sign-ins, browser cleanup, or a password reset do not grant permission that the organization has withheld.
Read the message and account
Confirm the full work or school address and record the non-sensitive error. Google’s error guide identifies organization-policy messages separately from developer configuration and unsupported-browser errors.
A block can affect a particular app or requested data rather than every Google sign-in. Do not infer the policy’s scope from a single failed attempt.
Provide the administrator with a clear request
- Name the app and its official website.
- Explain the work or learning task.
- List the Google data or permissions requested.
- Include the visible policy error without private authentication tokens.
- Identify whether colleagues or a particular group have the same need.
Use the organization’s approved request channel. Do not send your password or ask a colleague to approve using their own identity.
Use the request button only if offered
Google’s current admin guide supports access-request flows for some unconfigured apps, depending on settings and edition. The administrator reviews those requests.
That flow does not apply to every block. The guide says a configured app requesting an unpermitted Google service can be blocked without offering the same request process.
Who can approve it?
An administrator with the appropriate app-access privileges can review Google Workspace API controls and the app’s access setting. They may approve specific access, limit it, or refuse it according to organization policy.
Google’s guide places these controls under Security → Access and data control → API controls and identifies required administrator privileges. An ordinary user’s consent cannot override them.
Keep organization data within the approved route
Do not switch to personal Gmail and copy organization data there to bypass the block. Ask whether an approved product or narrower permission set can meet the need.
After approval, repeat the legitimate provider flow and verify both the account and the requested permissions. Administrator approval does not mean you should accept an unrelated or newly expanded consent request without checking it.
