Invite Guests with the Google Calendar iOS App

Google Calendar on iPhone or iPad can invite people by email, including recipients who use another calendar service. Use the Google app’s guest controls rather than assuming an Apple Calendar screen has the same workflow. Review the event and addresses before sending invitations.

Add the intended recipients

Create or edit the event, tap Add guests, and enter the verified email address or contact. Google’s iOS guidance provides Mark optional beside a guest when appropriate. Tap Done, review the full guest list, and save the event.

Check eligibility and scheduling

Google says ordinary guest addition is unavailable for events automatically created from Gmail, birthdays, holidays, and sports-calendar events. If editing another person’s event, the organizer must have granted the needed change permission. A visible event alone does not establish that capability.

Scheduling suggestions or comparisons can depend on a work, school, or group account and the calendars shared with it. Do not broaden private calendar permissions automatically just to obtain a suggested time.

Verify invitation and response states

Google’s guidance says saving sends email invitations. Reopen Guests to inspect actual Yes, No, or Maybe responses separately from the presence of an address. If an invitation is missing, check the address, legitimate inbox, spam folder, and recipient settings before creating another meeting. Forwarded invitations can reveal updates and allow the recipient to change your response, so avoid treating them as harmless reference links. The completed action should leave one correct meeting with the intended guests, while delivery, response, calendar access, and actual attendance remain distinct checks rather than one assumed success.
