Set a Repeating Event in Google Calendar on iPhone or iPad

A recurring event in the Google Calendar iPhone or iPad app uses a repeat rule rather than separate manually copied meetings. The iOS recurrence route includes More options under the time fields. Check that platform-specific path instead of applying an Android menu sequence unchanged.

Set the initial occurrence

Open Google’s Calendar app, choose Create > Event, and enter the title and confirmed date and time. Under the time, tap More options > Does not repeat. Select how often the event should occur, then save.

Review the series pattern

Inspect the available frequency and end condition in the actual editor. Google’s guidance states that repeating events have a limit of 730 occurrences. Keep the intended final date clear rather than describing an ongoing setting as an unlimited guarantee.

An existing event can also be opened and edited through the same repeat control. Confirm that the original appointment should become part of that recurring pattern before converting it.

Verify occurrence scope

Check several resulting dates, including the weekday, local time, and intended end. For later edits, Google’s iOS guidance distinguishes This event from All following events, with the latter affecting the selected and future occurrences while leaving earlier events unchanged. Read the confirmation prompt rather than assuming every mobile platform labels scope identically. Verify a neighboring occurrence after a one-time change. Visibility has separate series-wide behavior and should not be assumed occurrence-specific. The completed configuration should maintain one clear recurring schedule with deliberate exceptions, without overlapping manual copies created because a later date was not immediately visible in the current view.
