Use End the poll in Google Meet when voting is finished but the question should remain visible during the meeting. Deleting a poll is a separate action that removes it from the visible list. Choose the control that matches your intention before clearing a completed activity.
Locate the live question
As the moderator, open Meeting tools and Polls. Check the question wording so you close the correct poll when several are listed. Announce the final response opportunity and allow participants to submit before the cutoff. Google does not let participants change a vote after submission, so resolve material wording confusion before interpreting the result.
End voting without deleting the poll
Click End the poll. Google says this prevents further responses while participants can still find the poll. Review the displayed status after the action. If the group should see the totals, turn on Show everyone the results as a separate choice. Do not use Delete merely because you want voting to stop; deleted polls are no longer visible to anyone in the meeting.
Use the post-meeting report for follow-up
Meet emails the moderator a polling report after the meeting. Polls themselves are permanently deleted when the call ends, so an ended question remaining visible now is not a promise of a permanent meeting interface. Open the report later and confirm that it contains the intended question and results. Named response reports can contain personal answers, while anonymous polls omit participant names. Review that distinction before forwarding the report. If the poll informed a decision, record the agreed interpretation separately rather than treating the visible tally as a complete explanation of the group’s reasoning.
