Eligible Google Calendar appointment schedules can check more than one calendar for conflicts. This helps avoid bookings over commitments held on another relevant calendar. Adding that calendar to your visible grid alone is not proof that the booking schedule checks it.
Confirm the available feature
Review the account’s eligible subscription and the schedule’s settings on a computer. Google’s guidance says checking secondary calendars requires an eligible plan. Consult the current feature comparison rather than assuming every personal or paid account has the same option.
Select the relevant calendars
In the schedule editor, inspect Calendars checked for availability and select the appropriate calendars from those available. Google’s guidance describes eligible calendars you own, manage, or subscribe to. Shared-calendar schedules can have additional restrictions on checking other calendars.
Review the underlying event states. Busy events, including all-day Busy events, can block appointments in a checked calendar. Google’s conflict guidance also describes invitations answered Yes or Maybe. Do not assume a tentative response is always ignored.
Verify a known conflict
Save and inspect the booking page around a representative existing commitment. Confirm that the relevant interval is unavailable while an otherwise valid free interval remains bookable. Keep co-host availability separate: it is not automatically checked simply because a co-host was added. Do not turn off conflict checking as a routine fix for missing slots; first identify the event and rule responsible. A successful configuration establishes which calendars participate in the booking decision, rather than promising that every calendar visible anywhere in the account or every collaborator’s schedule has been considered.
