The Birthdays calendar in Google Calendar can show manually created birthdays and dates synchronized from Google Contacts. Hiding it is a display choice that covers both sources. It is different from removing a birthday from Contacts or disabling the synchronization that supplies entries.
Find the birthday calendar
On a computer, open Calendar and expand My calendars if necessary. Find Birthdays. Confirm the signed-in account before deciding whether a contact’s date is missing, especially when several Google Accounts are used.
Change the visible display
Uncheck Birthdays to hide its entries, or check it again to show them. Google’s birthday guidance says hiding all birthdays covers manually created entries as well as birthdays imported from Contacts. Inspect the actual date on the grid after changing the checkbox.
Do not turn off Sync from Contacts merely to reduce visual clutter. Google’s current guidance says disabling that synchronization removes synced birthday and significant-date events from Calendar, including changes made to those events, while retaining the source information in Contacts.
Verify without deleting the source
Show Birthdays again and inspect a known date. Check the appropriate contact record separately if the underlying birth date needs correction. Google distinguishes editing a linked birthday on supported mobile apps, which updates Contacts, from deleting a birthday in Calendar, which does not remove the Contacts information. A calendar checkbox should not be described as either of those data-editing operations. The completed display change should leave the source information intact and make the intended birthday entries visible or hidden, without unnecessary account-wide synchronization changes or duplicate manual replacements.
