After a supported Gmail address change, an outside app may fail to recognize your existing profile. Preserve the original account relationship while checking how that provider handles the changed email.
Confirm the Google Account and app profile
Check that Google services open under the renamed account and that you have not switched to another identity. Then inspect the app’s own account details if any session still works.
Google’s troubleshooting guide says it may continue providing the previous username to linked apps because some identify customers by email. An old address displayed inside an app is not, by itself, proof that Google’s rename failed.
Look for the provider’s email-change setting
Review the app’s account or profile settings. Where the provider supports it, update the email through its documented process and test the existing profile.
Google’s guide advises against proceeding with that change if the app has no suitable setting. Do not disconnect a working login merely to force the new address to appear.
If the provider no longer recognizes the account
Use its supported recovery method. Google’s guide describes trying the provider’s forgot-password process, which may send mail to the previous address, or temporarily returning to the old Google Account email when appropriate.
Some providers record that the account uses Google sign-in and do not offer ordinary password recovery. In that case, follow Google’s specific troubleshooting sequence together with the provider’s supported settings. Do not assume that inventing a new password will attach it to the existing profile.
Reconnect only after preserving access
Google documents cases where removing and reauthorizing the link is part of the repair. First establish the correct profile and any supported alternative sign-in, then follow the sequence for that situation.
Blindly revoking access can be the event that makes the provider stop recognizing the account. Avoid applying that step to every linked app at once.
Verify the original data
Check existing files, purchases, workspace membership, and subscription status after the repair. A fresh empty profile is not a successful migration.
If the provider cannot resolve its account mapping, contact its support with the old and new account identifiers through a private channel. Keep verification codes and authentication URLs out of the request.
