Removing a recording from a Google Slides presentation is not necessarily the same as deleting its video file in Drive. Google’s guidance distinguishes those actions. Check the recording’s creator and storage state before claiming that removal has made the video unavailable to its previous audience.
Remove the presentation entry
On a computer, open the presentation and click Rec. For the intended recording, choose More > Remove. Read the confirmation dialog and verify that you selected the correct take before proceeding.
Review the separate Drive option
If you created the recording, Google’s guidance says you may also move the Drive recording file to Trash. If you do not choose that action, the file remains in Drive and visible to people who have access.
If another person created the recording, removing it from the presentation does not remove it from that creator’s Drive or from viewers already permitted to access it. Coordinate with the owner when further action is required.
Verify the actual audience state
Check that the intended entry is gone from the presentation’s list, then inspect the Drive file and its permissions through the appropriate owner account. Do not report complete deletion solely from the presentation dialog. Consider existing shared links and any separately downloaded copies when describing what changed. This narrow removal workflow should not become a broad cleanup of unrelated recordings. Keep the scope limited to the identified artifact and preserve any retention requirements that apply to the presentation or recorded event. Review the remaining permission scope.
