The Google Slides iOS app can add text, shapes, and lines directly to a slide. Use these for a caption or a simple explanation when editing on an iPhone or iPad. Work with the current slide deliberately so touch gestures do not alter an unrelated object.
Add the needed object
Open the presentation, select the slide, and tap Add. Choose Text, Shape, or Line from the available controls. Enter or configure the content and inspect where the new object appears.
Adjust placement and order
Tap the object and drag it to another location. Google’s iOS guidance describes using blue squares to resize and the blue circle above the object to rotate. Check text orientation if a labeled shape is turned.
For overlap, use the available Move to front or Send to back command. The help notes that a right arrow in the object menu may reveal options that are not initially visible. Read the actual menu rather than applying Android’s More-menu sequence automatically.
Review the slide as a whole
Tap outside the object and inspect its relationship to titles, images, and other diagram elements. Present the slide to check whether the label is readable and the line points to the intended place. If several objects must move together, use the app’s documented multiple-selection and grouping controls. Grouping supports editing; it does not restrict collaborators or make confidential material inaccessible in the presentation file. Check the slide title and account context before continuing edits on another device.
