Export Google Slides as a PDF for a Static Review Copy

A PDF export from Google Slides is useful for a static review copy. It gives recipients a document they can read without using the live slideshow workflow. Treat it as a separate artifact and verify its contents rather than assuming every interactive presentation feature remains available.

Export the intended deck

Open the approved presentation on a computer and choose File > Download, then select PDF. Google’s download guidance describes selecting a file type through this menu. Check that you are exporting the final deck rather than another similarly named open presentation.

Inspect the static content

Open the downloaded PDF and read the slides as a recipient would. Check the first and last pages, images, small data labels, and text near the canvas edges. Review slides that depended on animations, audio, or video and add a suitable static explanation when necessary.

Do not describe a player image or staged diagram as equivalent to working media or a live reveal. A PDF review copy has a different audience experience.

Verify distribution and version

Check the PDF for sensitive material, optional slides, and outdated statements before sending it. Test important links in the actual PDF if recipients are expected to use them. Give the artifact a clear version name or date when revisions are likely. Later edits in Slides do not revise a PDF already distributed. If speaker notes are required, use and verify the appropriate notes-printing workflow instead of assuming an ordinary PDF download contains the presenter explanation you see in the editor.
