You can convert to JPG, PNG, or WebP. By default, files are named sequentially like “image_001” instead of using original names, making it harder to leave names or case details in public.
What is Exif/GPS information in images?
Images from smartphones and digital cameras may store metadata like Exif (Exchangeable Image File Format) beyond pixels. Exif can include capture date/time, device make and model, camera settings, orientation, and GPS location. Editing software may also record photographer name, description, copyright, and edit history in XMP or IPTC.
IPA advisoryHowever, Exif can add capture date/time, device, and GPS info, and sharing or posting online may lead to unintended personal data exposure. Since services may not strip Exif, checking before sharing is reliable.

Personal information not removed by Exif deletion alone
Even after removing metadata, visible personal info in the image remains. Check for employee IDs, mail, shipping labels, PC screens, whiteboards, badges, faces, uniforms, license plates, QR codes, views out windows, and reflections in mirrors or glass. Screenshots may include account names, emails, notifications, browser tab names, file paths, or internal system names.
This tool’s “Hide info in image” rewrites specified areas as output pixels. Black/white fill leaves no original pixels. Mosaic distorts appearance but isn’t guaranteed to make text or patterns fully unreadable, so use fill for sensitive info.
How to batch resize and compress images
- Select images:Select multiple images or drag and drop. In supported browsers, you can also paste images from the clipboard.
- Check detection results:Review images where GPS, Exif, capture date/time, device info, etc., are detected. Even if none are detected, check the image content separately.
- Set batch edit:Specify resizing, center crop, rotation, output format, quality, and file name.
- Hide necessary range:Open “Hide info in image” for each image and drag over areas like addresses or names.
- Process all images:Review the processed size, file size, file name, and re-check results in a list.
- Save and reopen:Save individually or as a ZIP, then open the saved images to check quality and that personal info is removed.
How to choose JPEG, PNG, WebP

The browser creates a new image through the Canvas API. JPEG and WebP quality can be set from 40% to 100%. If a format is unavailable, choose another supported output. See MDN: HTMLCanvasElement.toBlob().
What to check before/after processing
Keep original separately
This tool does not overwrite original files, but store originals elsewhere so you don’t replace them with the same name after download.
Check color and resolution
Regenerating images also drops embedded color profiles and resolution info. Don’t use for color-managed print, medical/research images, or evidence; use dedicated software for those.
HEIC/HEIF support depends on the browser
HEIC/HEIF can be processed only if your browser can read them. If not, convert to JPEG or PNG in your device’s photo app first.
Animated images not supported
GIF and animated WebP are not supported because they can’t hold multiple frames. Processing them as still images may keep only the first frame, so don’t load them.
FAQ for the batch image editing and personal information removal tool
Are my images uploaded to WiseChecker’s servers?
No upload. File loading, Exif checks, image editing, metadata removal, and ZIP creation all happen in your browser on this page. Closing the page discards working images and settings.
Can I remove not only GPS location but also capture date/time and camera info?
Yes. Images are regenerated without carrying over Exif, GPS, capture date/time, device info, photographer, comments, XMP, IPTC, etc. The same checks run after output.
Does removing Exif change image quality?
Images are re-encoded, so JPEG and WebP are recompressed. For quality, use high quality; to keep original pixels, choose PNG. Note PNG may increase file size.
Can faces or license plates be auto-detected?
No automatic detection. To avoid false positives and misses, you review the image and specify areas to hide. For sensitive personal info, use black or white fill instead of mosaic.
Can I process images without Exif?
Yes. Even if no Exif is detected, you can resize, compress, crop, rotate, flip, convert formats, rename files, and fill in areas.
Can I use it on a smartphone?
Yes. On narrow screens, settings and the image list stack vertically. However, processing dozens of high-resolution images uses a lot of memory, so reduce the number or use a PC.
Are original file names kept in the ZIP?
The default “Sequential names avoiding personal info” saves as image_001, image_002, etc. Only if you choose “Keep original names” does it save with the original name plus any specified text.
Can I re-check images after removal?
Re-checks Exif, GPS, XMP, IPTC, etc., right after processing and shows results for each image. To verify further, load the saved image back into this tool. Visual inspection is required for image content.
