AI Inbox presents suggested to-dos and topics that may need attention. It is a selected view of your email, not a complete replacement for the ordinary inbox. Google’s current guide identifies it as a beta feature available in English in the United States for eligible plans.
Check access and open the view
Review the dedicated eligibility requirements for your personal or work account and the required smart-feature controls. On a computer, Gmail’s Inbox settings include Show AI Inbox. Once available, AI Inbox appears in the left panel.
New content is not necessarily immediate. Google says the initial set can take time after enabling the required settings, potentially up to seven days. An account with little recent email can also show an empty view.
Understand the messages it leaves out
The current guide says AI Inbox surfaces messages from Primary rather than other tabs such as Social or Promotions. It filters out spam and messages you archive, delete, mute, or snooze. Attachments, delegated inboxes, and encrypted emails are not supported.
Keep checking the ordinary mailbox and any folders relevant to your work. A bill, commitment, or amended deadline can still require attention even if it is absent from AI Inbox. View all can expose additional generated items, but it does not remove those source-coverage limitations.
Review actions before using them
Open related sources to verify a to-do’s date, owner, and requested action. Marking an AI item done is not proof that you sent a reply or paid an invoice. The topic control Mark all as read also changes the affected emails’ read state in Gmail, so do not use it just to dismiss a display without understanding that effect.
Refresh stale information after checking the account and connection. Use feedback for incorrect or unsafe suggestions. Keep an independent record of critical obligations rather than relying on a generated priority view to identify every task.
