Gmail on a computer can forward several selected messages as email attachments. This preserves each selected message as an EML file inside a new email, rather than pasting all the wording into an ordinary forwarded body.
Select the messages and start the wrapper email
- In Gmail’s message list, select the checkboxes beside the emails you intend to send.
- Open More and choose Forward as attachment.
- Add the intended recipients and an explanatory subject or message.
- Review the attached emails and remove any unintended item.
- Check the completed message before sending.
Google also documents attaching an email by dragging it into a compose window. For an existing reply, its instructions use a pop-out reply window so that you can drag the message from the inbox into the response.
Review the contents, not just the subjects
An attached email can expose addresses, quoted history, original attachments, and information unrelated to the current request. Open the selected source messages and confirm that the recipient is entitled to receive them.
A subject line that looks harmless is not a privacy review. If only a particular passage is needed, decide whether a reviewed summary or another approved sharing method is more appropriate than forwarding the entire original message.
Check size, access, and authenticity limits
Multiple attached emails still contribute to the total message size. Google’s email-attachment instructions describe a Drive-link path above 25 MB; managed users should also check the current account and interface limits rather than interpreting “several messages” as unlimited storage or delivery capacity.
If Drive is used, verify the recipient’s access to the resulting files. The recipient also needs software that can read EML content when downloading the attached messages.
Finally, an attached email is not independent proof of its claimed sender. Google warns that, although EML attachments are checked for spam and viruses, it cannot confirm the sender inside actually sent that email. Verify sensitive instructions through a trusted channel instead of treating an attached message as authorization by itself.
