Earlier Google Meet chat messages may be unavailable because your connection has only the in-meeting chat experience. Continuous meeting chat can provide history to eligible invited internal guests, while other participants see a narrower period. Determine which case applies before assuming messages were deleted or the browser failed to load them.
Check invitation and organization status
Confirm whether you are signed in with an internal account and included on the Calendar invitation. Google says eligible internal invited guests can access the full continuous meeting history even when they join late. External guests, unsigned-in participants, and internal guests not on the invitation can be limited to messages sent during their current connection.
Check whether continuous chat applies
Ask the organizer whether continuous meeting chat is enabled and available for this meeting. Google lists unsupported contexts including instant meetings, breakout rooms, waiting-room meetings, live streams, and client-side encrypted meetings. Administrator and organization policies can also restrict history or sending. A chat panel that works during the call is not proof that continuous history exists for your account.
Recover the needed information appropriately
Ask a participant to resend a specific link or summarize the decision you missed, checking that you are entitled to receive it. In ordinary in-meeting chat, Google documents a computer-only exception for pinned messages created before you joined; those pins do not display on mobile devices. Do not repeatedly leave and rejoin to recover history, because the accessible period may become narrower. If you should have persistent access but do not, provide support with the account, invitation status, meeting type, and exact symptom. Avoid copying an entire private conversation into another channel merely to solve one missing-message problem.
