Check Why a Mobile Google Meet Presentation Has No Shared Audio

A mobile Google Meet presentation can show the screen without delivering the audio you expected. Google’s current Android and iOS instructions describe optional audio sharing in the Meet app, with device-dependent availability. Diagnose the actual sharing mode and controls instead of assuming all mobile presentations either always include audio or can never include it.

Check how the presentation was started

Ask whether you joined the meeting normally and then shared the screen, or used the presentation-only joining route. Google says the presentation-only route shares the window or application without other video or audio. Those two workflows have different expectations. Keep your voice and presentation sound as separate checks when asking another participant what they can hear.

Inspect the audio-sharing option

For an in-meeting mobile presentation, Google’s instructions say to select the audio checkbox in the Present to everyone popup. This feature is available in the Meet app. The Android guidance explicitly warns that a missing checkbox can mean the device does not support sharing audio. If no option appears, do not promise that restarting or changing an unrelated setting will add support.

Check mute behavior and use an appropriate alternative

Google says muting your microphone stops the shared audio, and noise cancellation might be unavailable while audio is shared. Test a short, non-sensitive clip with a remote listener and check the microphone state. If the required sound still cannot be shared, provide an authorized source link or arrange a supported presentation device. Avoid playing loud speaker audio beside another active meeting device as an improvised fix, because that can introduce feedback. Confirm both picture and sound after changing the presentation arrangement.
