Present a Phone Screen in Google Meet with a Notification Check

Presenting a phone screen in Google Meet can expose more than the app you intend to demonstrate. Prepare the screen and notification behavior before starting a broadcast. A personal message, account menu, or recent-app preview can become visible when you navigate away from the demonstration, so plan the whole route.

Prepare the phone and the audience

Close unrelated content and choose the material you will show. Adjust notifications using your device’s appropriate controls and test the intended behavior before the meeting. Let the organizer know you need to present. Google notes that screen sharing can be restricted by administrator settings or host controls, and starting a presentation can pause another participant’s presentation.

Start sharing from the mobile meeting

In the Android, iPhone, or iPad Meet app, join the meeting. Tap the screen, open More, and choose Share screen, then Start Sharing. Follow the device’s broadcast confirmation. Google’s separate presentation-only route uses different joining prompts, so do not confuse joining the conversation with joining only to present without normal audio and video.

Verify the shared view and stop it explicitly

Ask a participant to confirm the first intended screen before opening additional material. If an audio-sharing checkbox appears, choose it only when the presentation needs audio and you understand what will be sent. Keep private navigation outside the broadcast. When finished, return to the meeting screen, tap Stop sharing, and confirm with OK as offered. Verify that the presentation has ended before opening unrelated messages. Leaving a demonstration app is not the same action as stopping the phone’s screen broadcast.
