Cancel a Booked Google Calendar Appointment and Review Notifications

Canceling a booked Google Calendar appointment is different from deleting the schedule that offered it. Use the booked appointment’s cancellation route when a confirmed meeting should no longer take place. Review both participant communication and the slot that may become available again.

Select the confirmed appointment

On a computer, open the actual booked event and check its date, time, and booker. Google’s cancellation guidance describes choosing Cancel appointment and completing the Cancel your appointment page. Read the event identity before confirming.

Understand the cancellation effects

The guidance says the person who booked receives an email and the canceled time becomes available for booking again. Review the current schedule rules if that time should remain closed. Do not assume canceling one appointment prevents a replacement booking.

Deleting the whole appointment schedule is a separate action. Google explicitly says it does not cancel appointments already booked. Handle each existing participant arrangement deliberately when a service ends.

Verify the remaining arrangement

Check the event’s cancellation state and the relevant calendar and booking-page view. Confirm communication through the appropriate participant route when the change is important. Google’s guidance warns that a forwarded booking confirmation can let its recipient cancel the appointment, so treat confirmation links carefully. Do not distribute them as a general schedule link. If a booker reports an unexplained cancellation, inspect the actual event and legitimate messages before creating a replacement. A completed cancellation should establish which confirmed meeting ended, what visitors can book next, and how the affected people were informed, rather than equating a deleted schedule block with a canceled appointment.
