Google Meet Q&A lets participants submit questions and upvote existing ones. It keeps a question queue separate from ordinary chat. Before posting a duplicate, inspect the list and decide whether another person’s question already expresses what you need to know.
Open Q&A and review existing questions
On a computer, select Meeting tools at the bottom right and open Q&A. On mobile, start with More controls, then Meeting tools and Q&A. Read the visible questions and use Upvote on a relevant one. Upvotes can help the moderator identify interest, but they do not guarantee an answer or move a question ahead of the host’s chosen priorities.
Submit a clear question
Choose Ask a question, enter the question, and select Post. Include enough context to make the request understandable without disclosing unnecessary private information. If the meeting allows anonymous questions and that mode is intended, check Post Anonymously before posting. An anonymous question hides identifying details from participants, moderators, and the Workspace administrator under Google’s documented behavior, while Google still receives the full question.
Allow for moderation and follow-up
If the host requires approval, the question can wait for moderation before other attendees see it. Do not keep submitting copies because it has not appeared publicly. Ask the moderator about an absent Q&A feature or an urgent question through the agreed fallback channel. The moderator receives a post-meeting report that includes questions from the session, including hidden or deleted entries. Therefore, anonymity and removal from the live display are different matters. Watch for the answered status, and keep any unresolved issue available for an agreed follow-up instead of assuming an upvote or posted question created a personal response obligation.
