Find and Interpret a Google Meet Poll Results Report

Google Meet sends a polling report to the meeting moderator after polls are conducted. Use that report for follow-up because the in-meeting poll list does not survive the call. Check both the question and response mode before interpreting the attachment.

Find the report for the right session

Open the moderator’s poll-results email and select the report attachment. Compare the meeting date and question wording with the activity you ran. A poll saved as an unlaunched draft is different from a conducted poll. If a co-host does not receive the report, ask the main host to check artifact sharing rather than assuming every live promotion automatically receives all meeting files.

Read names and anonymous results correctly

Google says named poll reports include participant names and answers. Names are not shared for anonymous polls. Do not attempt to identify an anonymous response from voting order or a small group’s characteristics. Likewise, do not describe a named poll as anonymous because the totals were shown without names during the call. The response mode chosen before saving or launching determines that distinction.

Separate votes from meeting-wide agreement

Compare the returned responses with the question asked and the response period. An invitation list is not proof that every guest attended or voted, and a preference poll is not necessarily a binding decision. Explain missing responses or uncertainty when reporting a result rather than silently counting them as agreement. Review access before forwarding a report containing names and answers. If a wider audience only needs totals, prepare an approved summary instead of automatically distributing the full attachment. Preserve the report in the agreed location and confirm the actual decision with the responsible people, particularly when the poll wording left an important condition unstated.
