A Google Meet object demonstration can involve two different cameras: the webcam used for your participant tile and the camera chosen as presentation content. Selecting the wrong one can show your face instead of the document or expose an unintended area. Identify the devices before starting the audience-facing share.
Prepare and identify the object camera
Connect the intended document camera or additional external camera. Position the object, check lighting, and remove private material from the camera’s field of view. Note the device’s name as shown by the computer. Similar device labels are a reason to verify the image, rather than relying solely on where a camera sits on the desk.
Select it in the presentation workflow
On an eligible account, enable Share content from camera under Settings and General. Choose Present now, Camera, and the intended device. Select associated audio only if the demonstration requires it. Your normal webcam selection under Meet’s Video settings controls the ordinary camera feed; it is not a substitute for selecting the presentation source.
Confirm the audience sees the object
Ask a participant to identify a harmless visible detail and confirm that movement appears. Check the edges of the scene as well as the object itself. If the wrong feed appears, stop presenting before rearranging cameras or moving private documents into view, then select the correct device. Google’s camera-presentation feature requires a supported edition and the enabling setting, so an absent Camera presentation option is not proof the physical device is broken. End with Stop presenting and verify that the object feed disappears. Check your webcam separately if you also need to stop showing your face or workspace after the demonstration.
