A Google Meet code lets you enter a room without locating the original clickable invitation. Use it only after checking who supplied it and which session it belongs to. A correctly typed code can still refer to the wrong meeting, an expired room, or a meeting that requires host approval.
Enter the meeting code
Open the official Meet homepage on a computer. Check the signed-in account, enter the supplied meeting code in the joining field, and select Join. The homepage also supports a meeting URL or an eligible organizational nickname. Inspect the next screen before joining with your microphone or camera enabled.
Read the next step carefully
The room may offer Join now or require an admission request. That difference can reflect account and host settings rather than a typing error. Verify the invitation and identity before trying variants of the code. A nickname is not interchangeable with a normal code for an external guest.
Handle an unsuccessful attempt
If the code is rejected, compare it with the latest trusted invitation and ask the organizer whether the link changed. Google’s code-expiration rules vary according to where the meeting was created; a Calendar event containing a pasted link does not necessarily use Calendar’s expiration rules. Do not create a new meeting as a guest merely to work around the rejection. If the room opens but access is refused, provide the organizer your intended joining identity and exact message. That information helps distinguish expiration, the wrong room, and admission policy without repeatedly interrupting other participants with unrelated requests.
