Add Another Country’s Holiday Calendar in Google Calendar

Adding another country’s holiday calendar can help coordinate with colleagues or customers in that region. Choose the specific country or region and inspect its categories. A calendar subscription is not proof that every office, school, or business there follows the same closure schedule.

Browse the available regions

On a computer, open Settings > Settings. Under Add calendar, choose Browse calendars of interest. In Regional holidays, select Browse all and find the intended country or regional calendar.

Add only relevant calendars

Check the box beside the calendar you need. Review its Public holidays and Other observances choices where offered. Avoid subscribing to several similarly named regions merely because you are unsure which applies; establish the actual location involved first.

Google says holiday information is provided by a third-party specialist and updated regularly. Dates can therefore change, and a displayed holiday should not be treated as an independent confirmation of an organization’s specific operating hours.

Verify the maintained view

Return to the grid and inspect a few known dates in the relevant year. Review colors and existing holiday subscriptions so the new entries remain distinguishable. Check the authoritative local source separately when a deadline or legal requirement depends on the date. Hiding a holiday calendar from the grid is different from removing its subscription and does not cancel any meetings already scheduled on those dates. The useful result is a clearly identified regional reference that supports coordination, with its data source and practical limits understood. Do not promise that adding it automatically reschedules invitations or blocks appointment availability.
