Add Secondary and Tertiary Time Zones to Google Calendar

Google Calendar’s additional time-zone columns can make cross-region planning easier without changing the event itself. Current guidance supports a secondary and a tertiary zone alongside the primary one. Use clearly identified regions rather than relying on an ambiguous abbreviation that may mean different things in different places.

Enable additional zones

On a computer, open Settings > Settings > Time zone. Enable Show additional time zones. Choose the secondary time zone and, if useful, the tertiary time zone from the offered city or country choices.

Review the grid labels

Return to a timed calendar view and inspect the columns on the left of the grid. Check which label belongs to each region before choosing a meeting time. Multiple clock columns should reduce ambiguity, not create another unlabeled set of numbers.

These display columns are different from assigning an event a source time zone. Keep the event’s own date and time settings accurate even when several regional columns are visible.

Verify the actual appointment

Open a representative event and compare the visible local times. Review dates around midnight and seasonal clock changes, since regions can have different adjustment dates or rules. A fixed hour difference remembered from last month may no longer apply. Confirm the intended audience’s working hours separately; a mathematically corresponding time can still be inappropriate for participants. The extra columns support interpretation of the same schedule, but they do not automatically verify guest availability or resolve an unclear agreement about which local time was originally intended.
