Continuing a recent Google Slides Q&A session can preserve continuity when a talk resumes after a pause. It differs from starting a fresh question queue. Choose deliberately so the audience and presenter understand whether earlier questions are still part of the discussion.
Locate the recent session option
Open the presentation on a computer, choose Presenter View from the Slideshow menu, and open Audience tools. Google’s guidance offers Continue recent as the alternative to Start new.
Confirm the intended continuation
Select Continue recent when the earlier session belongs to the same presentation context. Inspect the available questions and the audience link before announcing the resumed collection. A recent session from a different audience or rehearsal may not be appropriate for the current talk.
Check any submission scope for the work or school account. Do not assume that the audience rules from a previous event automatically match a new group of viewers.
Verify the resumed workflow
Confirm that a new representative question reaches the presenter tools and that earlier questions are the ones you intended to retain. Explain how you will handle already answered items. End the session with the on/off switch when finished. Google’s help says the Q&A view closes shortly after the slideshow ends, so a pause and a completed presentation are different states to check. Continuing a session supports delivery continuity; it should not expose another audience’s questions or be presented as a general archive recovery feature for every past event.
