Google Slides Audience Q&A lets viewers submit questions during a presentation. It provides a separate audience link and presenter controls for reviewing questions. Start the session deliberately and verify the audience route before announcing that questions are being collected.
Open Audience tools
On a computer, open the arrow beside Slideshow and choose Presenter View. In the presenter window, select Audience tools. Google’s Q&A guidance describes this route for starting a live session.
Start the session
Choose Start new for a new question session. Review the displayed audience link and any account-specific submission scope. For work or school accounts, the available controls can determine who may submit questions.
Explain to the audience where to send questions and how you plan to use them. A question queue is not a promise that every submitted item will be answered during the talk.
Test and close appropriately
Use a representative audience device or account to check that the link opens and permits the intended submissions. Confirm that questions reach the presenter tools before relying on the workflow. End Q&A with the on/off switch when collection should stop. Google’s guidance notes that the Q&A view also closes shortly after the presentation ends. Review sensitive submissions carefully before displaying them. Starting a session does not guarantee anonymous participation, broaden organizational policy, or make every audience member eligible to submit under the same conditions. Use a harmless rehearsal question rather than a real private audience submission for the first test.
