Animating a list by paragraph in Google Slides can reveal one point at a time. This is useful when the speaker needs the audience to focus on the current item. First make sure the text is structured into meaningful list items instead of arbitrary line breaks.
Prepare the list
Open the slide on a computer and read the list. Use the native bulleted or numbered controls where appropriate. Each item should express a distinct point, and wrapped lines should remain part of that same item rather than becoming a separate artificial stage.
Enable paragraph-based animation
Select the list text and open Insert > Animation or View > Motion. Choose the object effect and check By paragraph. Google’s animation guidance describes this option for revealing lists one line at a time.
Review the start setting and speed. On-click timing may suit a discussion, while an automatic sequence may move too quickly for long items.
Verify every reveal
Preview the animation and rehearse the full slide. Check how nested items and wrapped text appear in the actual presentation. Confirm that a heading or qualification is visible before a claim that depends on it. If the list becomes tedious because too many clicks are required, simplify the content rather than accelerating a dense sequence. Review the exported handout as a separate artifact so recipients can understand the complete list without the live reveal. A staged presentation should improve attention while preserving the meaning and completeness of the underlying explanation. Inspect subordinate items separately.
