Gemini in Workspace conversation history is different from Gemini Apps activity. It is also app-specific: a conversation in Gmail does not automatically appear in the history panel of Docs. Start with the product where the interaction took place.
Find the available history controls
On a computer, open Gmail and Ask Gemini. Use the side panel’s More options menu to find recent conversations or View all conversations. Availability depends on the applicable personal plan or tester access, or a managed account’s eligible plan and Gemini Beta policy.
Google says the history feature does not retroactively include interactions from before its release. Some temporary system responses are also not saved. An empty history panel therefore does not prove that Gemini was never used in the account.
Review before deleting
Open the intended conversation, confirm its date and content, and preserve any information you are authorized and required to retain. Use the conversation’s More menu to rename or delete it. The guide describes deletion as permanent and not undoable.
For work or school accounts, an administrator can disable deletion or control automatic deletion. A grayed-out control can reflect policy rather than a browser malfunction. Do not attempt to evade that policy through another product’s activity page.
Check retention settings separately
Where permitted, Settings and History offer automatic deletion choices, including three, eighteen, or thirty-six months, or manual deletion only. The guide says automatic deletion applies to inactive conversations; continuing an old conversation can affect whether it qualifies.
Gmail Live transcripts can be managed through this Workspace history workflow from a web browser. Deleting a conversation is separate from deleting the source emails, changing saved custom instructions, or removing a document exported from a response. Review each relevant location rather than assuming one history action removes every related item.
