Review Google-connected apps by connection type and permission, then remove only the access you intend to end. One app can have several links serving different purposes.
Open the account’s linked-app list
Use the linked-app settings link in Google’s official guide and confirm the full Google Account address. Review the provider’s details rather than deciding from a recognizable logo alone.
The current guide separates Sign in with Google, linked accounts Google can access, access to your Google Account, and agent permissions.
Match the removal control to the relationship
- Sign in with Google: inspect its details and use Stop using Sign in with Google to end that sign-in link.
- Google access to an outside account: inspect the linked-account details and delete the link if appropriate.
- An app’s access to Google data: review its product permissions and use Remove access.
- Agent permission: stop the relevant agent’s use of the app when that is the access you intend to withdraw.
Control labels can vary with the combination of links. Removing an agent’s permission is not the same as deleting the account link, and removing a sign-in link is not proof that all separate data permissions have ended.
Prepare before removing legitimate access
If the app holds important data or a subscription, confirm another supported sign-in method first. Check which synchronization or automation features depend on the permission.
If the connection is unauthorized, prioritize securing the account and removing unsafe access. Do not keep it active merely because an unfamiliar app name might eventually prove useful.
Verify the result
- Return to the linked-app list and inspect the remaining relationships.
- Check whether the intended sync or sign-in has stopped.
- Review the app’s own settings and data policy.
- Keep a brief record of what was removed if it affects work.
The provider may retain information already shared. Use its separate deletion process if that is your goal. Unlinking also does not necessarily cancel billing or close the provider account.
For work or school connections, involve the administrator when policy or shared workflows apply. Avoid disconnecting every organization integration as a general security-cleanup shortcut.
