A Google Contacts label can expand a saved set of people into Gmail recipients. It is a personal address-list tool, not a separate shared mailbox or a Google Group with its own delivery address.
Create a label in the correct account
On a computer, open Google Contacts and confirm the account. Beside Labels, choose Create label, enter a clear name, and save. Select the contacts you want, open Manage labels, choose the new label, and apply it.
Review the list before using it. Google’s guidance says that when a contact has several email addresses, only its default email address is added to the label group. A label does not necessarily include every address on each contact card.
Expand the label in a Gmail draft
Open Gmail using the same account and start a message. Type the label’s name in the recipient field and select the matching suggestion. Inspect the expanded addresses rather than assuming the label name guarantees the correct membership.
Decide whether recipients should see one another’s addresses. For an ordinary list whose members should remain private, use Bcc where appropriate and verify the actual recipients. A Contacts label does not provide mailing-list consent management or bulk-mail delivery features.
Maintain the list deliberately
Return to Contacts to add or remove members through Manage labels. Removing a person from the label is different from deleting the contact altogether. Check the expanded list again after substantial changes.
If you need a stable team address, moderation, membership administration, or shared handling of incoming requests, evaluate Google Groups or a delegated mailbox instead. Do not expect a personal label to create those capabilities. Keep Gmail’s applicable sending limits in mind and never use contact labels to evade them. Before a real group send, use a draft to verify that every destination is current and authorized to receive the content.
