If Gmail cannot find a Google Contacts label, first check the account and the type of group you created. A personal contact label and a Google Group are different objects and are not selected in the same way.
Verify the label where it was created
Open Google Contacts on a computer and confirm the full account address. Find the label in the left menu and inspect its members. If it belongs to another personal or work account, it will not automatically become your current account’s Gmail recipient list.
Make sure the members actually have usable email addresses. A contact card containing only a phone number cannot supply a Gmail destination, and a multi-address contact uses its default email address for the label group.
Test in desktop Gmail under the same account
Start a fresh draft, type the label name in the recipient field, and select the matching suggestion if it appears. Check the expanded addresses. If the label was just edited, refresh the relevant pages after protecting any unsent work.
If you are trying this in a mobile interface that does not expose the same label-expansion controls, compare the documented desktop workflow. Do not assume that a phone’s local contact group is synchronized as a Google Contacts label.
Use the right address for a Google Group
A Google Group has its own email address and membership permissions. To send to it, use that verified group address; typing a personal Contacts label name is a different process. Whether a group accepts your message depends on its posting settings.
For a shared team list, ask the owner which object you were given and which account should access it. Do not recreate an unfamiliar group as a personal list with copied member addresses, because that can bypass membership controls and expose recipients. Record the account, label name, interface used, and whether the members appear in Contacts when asking for help.
