The Google Slides Android app can crop an image or mask it into a shape. Cropping trims the visible edges; masking changes the visible outline. Both are presentation appearance tools, so use a properly sanitized source when the original picture contains information the audience should not receive.
Crop the visible area
Open the presentation in the Android Slides app and tap the image. At the bottom, tap Crop, then touch and drag the border. Tap elsewhere on the slide when finished. Check the result outside crop mode before making another adjustment.
Apply a shape mask
With the image selected, tap Crop, then Mask, and choose a shape. Google’s Android guidance describes adjusting the masked shape by dragging its border. Select an outline that suits the subject instead of cutting off an important face, label, or diagram feature.
Compare repeated pictures if a slide uses several masks. Matching outer shapes do not automatically make the visible subjects equally sized or consistently positioned.
Verify the audience view
Present the slide and inspect the important details at the expected viewing size. Update the caption if the crop changes which part of the picture is being discussed. Google’s Android help directs Slides image reset to a computer, so do not assume the Docs mobile reset command exists in the same form here. Keep the original approved image available for a careful repair. Neither a crop nor a mask should be described as permanently deleting hidden source information from the audience’s file.
