Correct the Time Zone of an Existing Google Calendar Event

An existing Google Calendar event may need a corrected source time zone when it was entered under the wrong regional assumption. Check the confirmed schedule before editing. A different local display after travel does not necessarily mean the event’s actual instant is wrong.

Identify the real discrepancy

Open the event on a computer and compare its date, clock time, and zone with the organizer’s confirmed information. Distinguish a primary display-zone change from an incorrectly created event. Do not move the meeting simply to make its hour resemble an old screenshot.

Correct the event-level zone

Choose Edit and open Time zone beside the time fields. Select the intended city or country and confirm the choice. Review the start and end values after changing the zone rather than assuming the editor interpreted your intention automatically.

If the event repeats, inspect the saved-change scope and decide whether the correction belongs to one occurrence, later meetings, or the whole series.

Verify the current agreement

Save and reopen the event, then compare it in the relevant local zones. Check the calendar date near midnight and review daylight saving boundaries. Communicate a substantive reschedule to guests through the appropriate update process. Room and resource acceptance can change when the event’s actual interval changes. A corrected zone label is only useful if the resulting date and time match the confirmed appointment. Keep the existing event identifiable and avoid creating another invitation while the original remains active and inconsistent. Check the corrected interval before sending updates.
