Choose a Custom Appointment Duration in Google Calendar

Appointment duration determines the length of a bookable meeting in a Google Calendar schedule. A custom duration can fit a consultation or service that does not match a preset. Keep it separate from the availability period in which several appointments may fit.

Open the schedule configuration

On a computer, create an Appointment schedule or open the existing schedule for editing. Check the title and destination calendar before changing a setting that visitors use to select a meeting. Review whether the change should affect this booking page’s future availability.

Set the appointment length

Under Appointment duration, open the duration dropdown. Google’s setup guidance provides a Custom option for a different length. Enter the intended duration and review the weekly availability and scheduling window that surround it.

A duration longer than an available period cannot be assumed to produce a valid slot. Buffer settings, booking limits, and conflicts can further reduce the times offered. Do not change those protections merely to make a desired slot appear.

Verify the actual bookable interval

Continue through the setup and save. Open the booking page and inspect the start and end of a representative offered appointment. Confirm that its length matches the service description and leaves the intended preparation or transition time. Review existing booked events separately rather than promising that a schedule edit automatically resizes every earlier booking. If the page shows fewer choices than expected, compare duration with the configured availability and conflicts before recreating the schedule. A custom number in the editor is only useful when the resulting page offers valid appointments of that length under the current account’s actual booking rules.
