ChatGPT vs Claude vs Gemini: Plans, Prices & Access

WISECHECKER / AI CHECK

Compare what you can actually use.

Compare US monthly web reference prices, model access and billing boundaries. Find the right starting point without a universal best-AI ranking.

Edition reviewed 2026-10-22 · Individual plans · English edition

A fair price comparison starts with the billing unit

Choose the job first: general assistance, source-checkable research, a terminal coding agent, or help inside Google apps. Then compare a monthly subscription with another monthly subscription. A yearly headline rate, a temporary trial and a metered API bill answer different questions.

The table records publicly listed individual web plans. It does not assert country, age, workplace or account eligibility. It excludes organization plans, negotiated contracts and temporary discounts.

Model access: product first, model second

ChatGPT

GPT-6.1 Sol / GPT-6 Luna

GPT-6.1 Sol is rolling out to paid plans, excluding Free/Go at launch. Free/Go have rollout-dependent Luna access in the desktop app.

These model notes concern Work and Codex, not ordinary Chat. Availability still depends on your plan, client and account.

Three checks before subscribing

Existing access

Try the included route in a plan you already pay for before adding a second subscription. A plan can fit your workflow without being the cheapest new purchase.

Usage, not just price

A listed fee is not a promise of unlimited work. Test your actual document size, tool use and session length. Avoid extrapolating a small task into a full-month capacity estimate.

Benefits are not cash

An included developer credit may have its own claim, expiry and eligible-use rules. Do not subtract its face value from the subscription price or assume it restores an exhausted chat allowance.

What this comparison deliberately does not rank

There is no overall winner, value score or paid placement in this shortlist. Writing quality, research accuracy and code correctness depend on the task and verification. A feature check establishes a possible route, not the quality of the answer it will produce.

For the first test, use the same input and acceptance criteria across services. Keep confidential material out until you have checked your workplace rules and the specific account's data controls.

Evidence and update policy

This independent reference is checked against provider documentation during editorial preparation, with software assistance. It is not an account-level test or a head-to-head benchmark. Prices, access notes and updates share one catalog, so a reviewed correction can flow to all five pages. Fetching a page or saving an edit does not, by itself, renew its verification date.

Each record has an explicit review deadline, no more than seven days after its check. Overdue records are labeled and excluded from price-based recommendations. Offers with an explicit expiry stop displaying as active after that time. Missing evidence means “not verified,” not “free,” “unavailable” or “no incident.”

Official sources establish documented terms; your provider account and local checkout establish your actual access and charge. We do not inspect either. There is no universal model ranking, automated publication of scraped claims or promise of continuous human coverage.
