Report Abuse from a Google Meet Meeting

Google Meet provides an in-meeting abuse report for behavior that violates its acceptable-use rules. Describe the actual conduct and participants carefully so the report contains useful context. Reporting is separate from immediate host moderation, and it does not guarantee that you will receive a detailed investigation outcome.

Open the abuse report

On a computer meeting screen, open More options and choose Report abuse. Select the abuse type, enter the display names of the people involved, and describe the issue. Google says every field in the form must be completed and supports reporting multiple participants together. Use factual descriptions rather than speculation about a person’s identity or motive.

Review any optional video evidence

Some users may see an optional video-clip checkbox. Google limits this to certain consumer-organized meetings and says it is unavailable if a Workspace subscriber joins that consumer meeting. The clip has no meeting audio and is no longer than one minute. Do not assume it captures a spoken threat or is available for every report. Include only evidence appropriate to the incident and reporting workflow.

Address the immediate meeting problem separately

Ask an authorized host to use available moderation controls when disruption continues, or leave if that is the appropriate immediate response. Google’s CSE guidance lists abuse reporting as unavailable in client-side encrypted meetings; use the organization’s established assistance route if that control is absent for this reason. Keep any necessary incident record through approved channels without circulating private meeting material widely. Google says it investigates reports and contacts users when further details or information are needed. A submitted report should not be described as proof that an account has been sanctioned or that the disruption is already resolved.
