A Google Meet recording is not always ready to stream immediately after capture stops. Drive’s Still processing message describes preparation for viewing. It is different from an access-denied message and calls for a different response.
Check what the screen actually says
Open the recording link using the intended Google Account and read the message. If the file opens but reports Still processing, avoid changing its sharing solely to address that message. If Drive instead asks you to request access, confirm the account and ask the owner to review permissions. A missing email can simply mean the recording has not finished being generated.
Allow video and captions to become ready
Google sends the recording link to the organizer and the person who started recording when it is available. Saved captions can lag behind the video by several hours, so a playable video without captions does not immediately prove that caption capture failed. Reopen the same trusted file later and inspect its caption control. Avoid making several copies while the original is still being prepared.
Use an authorized download if needed
Google’s troubleshooting guidance suggests downloading the file and opening it locally when online playback is still processing. In Drive, select the recording, open More, and choose Download if your permissions and organizational policy allow it. Keep the downloaded recording in an approved location. Downloading does not resolve another person’s missing access, nor does it grant permission to redistribute the content. If the expected recording remains absent, give the organizer the meeting time, who started and stopped capture, and the exact current status. Check the organizer’s Google Meet folder before concluding that an email delay means the recording was lost.
