Turn Off Birthday Sync from One Google Account Deliberately

Turning off birthday synchronization for one Google Account has stronger effects than hiding the Birthdays calendar. Google’s current guidance says synced birthdays, significant dates, and changes to those synced events are removed from Calendar. The original information remains in Google Contacts.

Identify the actual goal

If you only want a quieter calendar grid, use the Birthdays display checkbox instead. If one account’s synchronized dates should no longer populate Calendar, confirm that account and review any changes made to its synced events before proceeding.

Change the account’s sync setting

On a computer, open Settings > Settings. Under Settings for my calendars, choose Birthdays. Under Sync from Contacts, uncheck the specific Google Account whose synchronized dates you intend to remove from Calendar.

Read the setting as an account-specific synchronization change, not merely a temporary display filter. Avoid unchecking every account when only one contact source is involved. Do not promise that later re-enabling sync restores every modification previously made to removed Calendar entries.

Verify Calendar and Contacts separately

Inspect a known date from the affected account in Calendar and confirm that a different intended account’s dates remain appropriate. Check Contacts independently when you need to verify the source birth date still exists. Do not create replacement birthdays before understanding which source and account should maintain them. The completed operation should identify the account whose Calendar sync changed and acknowledge the removed synced-event state. It should not be described as erasing the underlying person’s contact record, deleting every birthday in every account, or simply hiding entries until a checkbox is shown again.
