Exporting one secondary Google Calendar can keep a migration limited to a project or shared schedule. It avoids downloading every eligible calendar in your account. Confirm the specific calendar and your export permission before choosing the individual download.
Identify the calendar precisely
On a computer, find the intended calendar under My calendars. Check its name and ownership context, especially if several calendars use similar project names. Google’s export guidance requires Make changes and manage sharing permission and allows organizational restrictions.
Use the calendar-level export
Point to the calendar name, open its options, and choose Settings and sharing. Under Calendar settings, choose Export calendar. The documented single-calendar workflow downloads an ICS file rather than the ZIP used by the broader export route.
Do not use public sharing as a substitute when the export control is unavailable. A permitted viewer and an authorized exporter have different capabilities, and an administrator can limit the available route.
Check the file and intended use
Confirm that the downloaded file corresponds to the selected calendar. Review a few identifiable events and the relevant date range before using it elsewhere. Retain the original source until migration verification is complete. The ICS file is a snapshot; later edits to the Google Calendar do not automatically revise that saved file. If it is imported back into Calendar, choose the destination deliberately and check for existing copies first. An individual export limits which calendar is copied, but it does not by itself remove private descriptions, locations, or other event data from that calendar’s exported contents.
