Changing a Google Calendar event’s organizer is different from moving it between calendars you manage. Use the event ownership workflow when another person should become responsible for the meeting. Review guests, conferencing, and the recipient’s acceptance before calling the handover complete.
Select the owned event
On a computer, open an event you own. Check the title, date, recurrence context, and guest list. Google’s transfer guidance says events with more than 200 guests cannot be transferred to another owner or calendar through this operation.
Send the ownership change
Open the event’s options and choose Change owner. Enter the intended new owner and a useful handover message, then submit the change. Verify the address carefully rather than relying only on a contact’s display name.
Google’s guidance says the recipient has sixty days to accept and the original owner remains responsible until acceptance. A sent request is not an immediately completed organizer change.
Review the resulting meeting
After acceptance, confirm the event owner and the current guest and conference information. Google notes that transfers can affect the Meet policies applying to an event. Check any reused code and related records instead of assuming an unchanged URL guarantees unchanged access. Review participant communication and ongoing responsibility for a recurring series. If a personal Invite via link route was used, the new owner may need to generate the appropriate link. Keep the final event clearly maintained without leaving the old and new organizers both assuming the other completed the handover.
