Choose Custom Repeat Days for a Google Calendar Event

A custom repeat pattern in Google Calendar can represent meetings held on selected weekdays or at another offered interval. Choose it when an ordinary weekly pattern does not match the real schedule. Review the actual dates after saving rather than assuming a familiar-looking repeat label expresses every required condition.

Start from a correct event

Create or edit the event on a computer. Check the initial date, time, calendar, and guests. Open the repeat control beside Does not repeat or the existing recurrence description, then inspect the custom choices available in the editor.

Set only the intended pattern

Select the relevant interval and repeat days offered by the interface. Google’s recurring-event guidance describes choosing how often an event repeats and when it ends. Read the resulting summary carefully before saving, especially when the meeting occurs more than once per week.

A custom pattern should not be used to conceal known exceptions. Plan separate changes for holidays or dates that genuinely need different treatment.

Check the resulting sequence

Inspect multiple weeks, including the first and last relevant periods. Confirm that no extra weekday was selected and that the interval matches the intended cadence. Review the documented 730-occurrence limit when planning a long series. If the editor does not offer the rule you need, investigate an appropriate supported workflow rather than creating an approximate pattern and calling it exact. A successful save does not verify that every participant is free on every generated date or that a room has accepted the whole series.
