An all-day Google Calendar event belongs in the all-day area rather than at a specific clock time. It can suit a date-based occasion or an availability marker. “All day” describes its scheduling format; it does not automatically establish whether the entry should block other meetings.
Create the date-based entry
On a computer, choose Create and enter the event details. Under the date and time, enable All day, then review the selected date. Google’s guidance says all-day events appear at the top of the page for that day.
Review availability and audience
Check whether the event should be Free or Busy and choose its visibility according to the calendar’s actual sharing rules. A holiday note and a day when you cannot attend meetings can require different availability treatment even though both use an all-day display.
Keep sensitive details out of the title when the intended audience only needs an availability indication. Private event visibility still has permission-related limits and should not be described as hidden from every administrator or calendar manager.
Verify the final date
Save and reopen the event, then inspect its position in the all-day row. Check the complete date range if the entry extends beyond one day. If you meant a particular appointment time, use a timed event instead; a note saying “at 9” inside an all-day title does not make the event a nine-o’clock booking. Review the event from the intended calendar and account before assuming it correctly represents availability for scheduling or appointment booking.
