Add and Edit Tables in Google Slides on iPhone or iPad

The Google Slides iOS app can create and edit a table, including cell styling described in Google’s iPhone and iPad guidance. Follow the Slides-specific instructions because the shared help also contains different Docs menus. Keep the table small enough for a presentation audience to read.

Insert and populate the table

Open the presentation, select the destination slide, and tap Add > Table. Choose the row and column counts and insert the table. Enter meaningful headings, units, and verified values. Do not assume the table calculates like a spreadsheet.

Change structure and appearance

Tap the table and the gray row or column bar for insertion or deletion options. The iOS help notes that a right arrow may reveal additional menu items. For resizing, drag the relevant row or column edge, or the whole table’s blue squares.

To style cells, select them and open Format > Table. Google’s iOS instructions list fill color, border color, border width or weight, and border dash. This differs from the Android help, which directs individual Slides cell styling to a computer.

Verify data relationships

Check every header against the values beneath it after adding, deleting, or merging cells. Inspect the smallest text and longest heading in presentation mode. A neat border treatment does not establish data accuracy. If the table has become too dense, reduce the displayed comparison or divide it into separate slides. Review the intended export or printing route separately when recipients will use a static document rather than the mobile slideshow.
