Use Audience Q&A When Presenting Google Slides from Android

The Google Slides Android app can manage audience questions while presenting to another screen. This is different from merely opening a deck on the phone. Establish the presentation route first, then confirm that the Q&A link and presenter controls work for the intended audience.

Start or resume Q&A

Present from the Android device to another screen through an appropriate supported route. At the top right, tap Show Q&A. Choose Start new for a new session or Continue recent when the existing session is the intended one.

Manage displayed questions

Tap a question to display it. Google’s Android guidance says you can change the displayed question by tapping another and hide it by tapping the check mark beside the question. Read the submission before projecting it so private details are not exposed accidentally.

Tell viewers to use the audience link shown in the presentation. Their optional anonymous submission choice should not be described as a guarantee of untraceable participation.

Verify and end the session

Check that a harmless representative question reaches the queue and appears on the intended audience screen when selected. Use the Q&A on/off switch when collection should stop. Google’s guidance says the Q&A view closes shortly after the presentation ends even if it was not turned off manually. Review the account’s submission rules and do not promise universal access from every device or account. Keep sensitive follow-up matters in an approved private channel rather than a question that may be shown to everyone.
