The Google Slides Android app supports many routine edits, but some tasks are directed to a computer in Google’s official help. Recognizing those boundaries avoids wasting time searching for a desktop menu that the mobile interface does not provide in the same form.
Identify the exact task
Write down whether you need an ordinary image insertion, a reusable placeholder, a background change, slide numbering, or detailed table styling. Similar-looking outcomes can involve different editing levels and different platform support.
Use the documented desktop route
Google’s Android guidance directs slide numbering to the web presentation interface, background changes to a computer, and image-placeholder insertion to a computer. It also directs Slides image reset and individual table-cell styling to desktop workflows. Slide-size changes are documented for a computer through Page setup.
Do not copy iPhone-specific background controls or Google Docs mobile table menus into Android Slides instructions. The shared help pages label product and platform sections for a reason.
Continue without losing context
Confirm the presentation’s account, title, and latest saved state before opening it on the computer. Make the narrow required change, then inspect the deck again in the Android app if it will be presented there. A successful desktop edit does not establish mobile presentation behavior. Keep routine mobile tasks in the app when they are supported, and use the computer for the specific missing capability rather than replacing the entire deck or installing an unknown add-on. Verify the resulting slide, not just the presence of a menu command.
