Google Slides on Android can present on the device and supports other documented presentation routes such as Chromecast or Meet. Choose the route that matches the audience setup and test it before the event. A deck visible on the phone is not proof that an external screen receives the same content.
Present on the device
Open the deck in the Android Slides app. Tap Present > Present on this device. Swipe left or right to change slides, and use the Back arrow to exit. Check the opening slide and normal navigation before presenting a long section.
Use an external presentation route
For Chromecast, Google’s guidance requires the Android device and Chromecast to use the same Wi-Fi network. Open the presentation and tap the Cast control. Use the device’s volume buttons for volume and the notes control when needed. The guidance says Chromecast guest mode is not supported for Slides presentation.
For Meet, use the app’s Present route and choose the intended destination. Confirm that it is the correct meeting rather than relying only on a familiar name.
Verify the audience experience
Check slide order, media behavior, sound, and speaker-note visibility in the actual arrangement. Stop casting or presenting with the appropriate Close control when finished. Use only a network and display setup you are authorized to access. If the external display fails, record the specific route and error instead of changing unrelated network settings. A successful on-device rehearsal verifies that route alone; external screens and meetings need their own end-to-end check.
