A Google Slides recording is a separate media artifact with its own audience settings. Review those settings before sharing a recorded presentation, even when the viewers already have access to the deck. The video may contain narration, camera background, or spoken details that are absent from the slides.
Review the intended recording
Open the presentation on a computer, choose Rec, and select the recording’s title. Play the relevant sections to confirm that it is the approved take. Check the beginning and ending for unrelated conversation or other material that should not be distributed.
Choose the audience rules
In the recording player’s upper-right sharing control, select the appropriate user, audience, or URL visibility rules. Google’s guidance also permits sharing the recording through the normal Drive file workflow. Choose the narrow role and scope needed for the actual recipients.
Do not assume a presentation collaborator must receive the recording merely because immediate sharing is available after creation. Review whether the recorded narration is appropriate for the same audience.
Verify recipient access
Test through a representative intended viewer and confirm that the recording opens and plays. A successful sharing dialog is not proof that organization restrictions or recipient account requirements have been satisfied. Keep the final recording version identifiable when several takes exist. If the deck changes later, decide whether the video needs replacement and handle any older shared artifact separately. Sharing one checked video does not automatically withdraw earlier files, links, or copies that recipients have already received.
