The Motion panel’s preview is useful for checking a Google Slides effect before a talk, but it should be followed by a real slideshow rehearsal. That combination helps distinguish an individual animation problem from an issue with navigation, timing, or the presentation environment.
Preview the intended effect
Open the slide on a computer and inspect its transition and object animations. Use Play in the Motion controls to see the configured effect. Check which object appears, the start setting, and the chosen speed.
Test the surrounding sequence
Start the slideshow from the preceding slide rather than only replaying the isolated effect. Advance with the controls you will actually use, including a remote clicker when relevant. Confirm the number of actions needed before the complete message is visible.
Review any relationship between motion and media. An animation can appear correct while an audio or video dependency still fails for the presenter’s account.
Record the meaningful result
Note any incorrect order, missing effect, or unexpected click behavior and adjust only the relevant setting. Google’s guidance warns that some animations may not function in some browsers, so test the delivery browser before making a compatibility claim. If the presentation will be exported, inspect that artifact separately without assuming it preserves motion. A useful rehearsal verifies that the audience can follow the content at the intended pace, not just that the preview button produces visible movement. Remove an effect when it adds complexity without helping the explanation. Include the final slide transition in the rehearsal.
