Gmailify Is Being Retired: Keep Access to Your Other Email Account

2026年10月29日 by wisechecker

Gmailify’s retirement concerns Gmail features applied to another provider’s mailbox. It does not itself close that provider’s account. Plan how you will continue reading, sending, and receiving mail without assuming the former linked experience remains available indefinitely.

Identify what Gmailify provided

Google’s notice lists features such as Gmail spam protection, inbox organization, improved notifications, and advanced search behavior for the linked third-party account. Losing that integration is different from deleting the source mailbox.

As reviewed on October 29, 2026, the notice says new users are no longer supported after the first quarter of 2026 and existing use continues until January 2027. Do not describe that future transition as already completed for every existing account.

Choose the source account’s supported access

  1. Confirm the other provider’s account address and working sign-in.
  2. Test its official webmail or supported app.
  3. If appropriate, add it directly to the Gmail mobile app using the provider’s supported authentication.
  4. Check new mail, sending identity, and replies separately.

A direct IMAP connection in the Gmail app is not the same as Gmailify’s enhanced integration. Do not promise that every former sorting or search feature will behave identically.

Preserve history and remove obsolete routes carefully

Google states that previously synchronized messages remain in Gmail. Still verify your important historical mail and preserve required records before disconnecting a link or cancelling another service.

If you need future copies in the main Gmail mailbox, inspect approved forwarding options at the source provider. If you need historical transfer, choose a supported one-time import or organizational migration separately.

Do not turn on several replacement routes simultaneously without tracking them, because that can create duplicates. Avoid outdated instructions recommending weaker security or a new legacy integration that is no longer accepting users.

Keep access to the source account until the replacement is tested. Recheck the official timeline before the actual change date, and document any account-specific notice rather than inventing a single guaranteed shutdown hour for all users.
